Artist Applications
Theatre is a tough industry to be a part of and The Drama Factory considers itself a partner in making this difficult pursuit a little easier. We encourage artistic risks and cater to both niche and mainstream tastes.
Our goal is a satisfied audience, achieved by building trust and personal connections. We host a wide variety of shows, including drama, comedy, anti-theatre, stand-up, cabaret, burlesque, talks, workshops, live music, readings, and poetry.

Ticket prices: determined by the artists
Financial agreement: The Drama Factory takes a 30% share of ticket sales. Payment is made via EFT and tends to take around 5 working days.
Tech get-in: Included for a 60-minute show with a two-hour get-in. An R250 surcharge for shows longer than 60 minutes.
Outright bookings: Hourly fee based on day and time.

Productions under 45 minutes
Productions not open to the public
Productions with free entranceIf you are interested in a rental option you may skip the following sections: Creative Team, References, Media, and Motivation.
If any production has misrepresented itself, it may be pulled from the schedule at any point and ticket sales will be refunded to the buyers. The Drama Factory and its affiliates will not be liable for any losses, damages or costs in such a scenario. All shows undergo a vetting process.

Floor and walls: Black floors and black wall curtains
Dressing room: Single dressing room available with bathroom and kitchenette

PA system: Good quality
Sound equipment:
2 X S58 corded microphones
2 X 600W Alto speakers
2 X 230W Alto monitor speakers
2 X additional monitor speakers
1 X Bass Bin
12 Channel Mixing Desk
Any additional equipment needed is the responsibility of the artist.

Services: Front of House, online, and telephone booking provided
Marketing: Partnership between The Drama Factory and producers
Rental fee: Hourly fee for outright booking, varying based on the day of the week and time of day.
